How to Become a Member of Nippers

Becoming a Junior Activities (Nipper) member at Peregian Surf Club is easy. Simply have your parent or guardian complete the appropriate forms and lodge them with administration when you pay your fees. You will  need to demonstrate your swimming competency in a pool first and then in the surf but this helps us cater for your needs. Then, simply join in the fun.

Sign-on

Nippers registration (sign-on) will be held 30th and 31st August 2008 in the training room of the Surf Club (downstairs) from 10am - 12 noon each day. Don't forget your Birth certificate to show proof of age.

Fees & Forms

Find out more about Peregian Nippers by viewing our Nippers Handbook. Learn about fees and download the forms you need here. Membership forms can also be obtained from club administration between the hours of 10.00am and 3.00pm Mondays to Wednesdays and Fridays.

Competencies

All nippers need to demonstrate their swimming competency in a pool before they hit the surf. This year swims will be held at Coolum Pool on Saturday 6th September from 10am till 12noon and Sunday 7th September from 10am till 11am. Take a look at the competency chart to see what you need to do.

Nipper Activities

Peregian Nippers will commence their activities with a run-swim-run on Sunday 14th September and thereafter Nippers will be held each Sunday from 7.45am till 10.30am at Peregian Beach, weather and surf conditions permitting.

Carnivals and Competition

Nippers do not have to participate in carnivals however we do encourage everyone to have a go. If you are keen to get amongst it, take a look at our Nippers Calendar page for information on all the carnivals this season and find out how you can join in the fun and excitement.

Parent participation

Nippers is entirely run by volunteers, mostly nipper parents, who cater for all the activities that our children participate in. Without the help and support of parents there would be no nippers so we encourage all parents and guardians to join the club. This not only ensures that everyone is covered by Surf Lifesaving Insurance and that all our helpers hold a Blue card, but also means that everyone can help, not just the people in "official" roles. All nipper parents are expected to help with fundraising for nippers including working at the Club sausage sizzle on market days during the summer. View the BBQ roster here....
